Micklefield Hall Wedding Photographer, Hertfordshire
It’s always a pleasure to be back at Micklefield Hall, one of my favourite venues around the country. So I was delighted when Naomi & Chris asked me to be their wedding photographer for their big day.
A few years ago, Micklefield added a fantastic bridal room and that was where I headed when I arrived to get some photos of Anna and her team get ready. Glorious February sunlight was flooding through the windows which as a natural light wedding photographer gave me lots of great opportunities for shots such as the one above.
As the makeup artist put the finishing touches Naomi’s makeup, I headed downstairs to capture the guests arriving at the venue. There was an excited buzz as people gathered in the french courtyard outside the barn. As guests greeted and hugged each other, the children ran around exploring the venue.
When Naomi was ready, she made the short walk to The Great Barn with her father who was brimming with pride. The barn was a beautiful setting for the ceremony. I don’t think the happy couple stopped smiling once!
Everyone then lined the beautiful walkway in the garden and threw confetti with lots of gusto, especially the children.
The weather was perfect for drinks and canapés in the courtyard. I quietly blended into the background and went searching for some little moments between guests. These images really helped to tell the story of what a happy and special day it was for Naomi & Chris.
Back in the Barn, dinner was served after some hysterical speeches. Afterwards, the band started up as the newly wedding couple took to the dancefloor for their first dance, framed by some beautiful fairy lights twinkling away behind them.
As I left I knew that the party was only just getting started …
