The Ivy is one of those very special places in London that you hope to be invited to. It has everything: old-school glamour, fabulous food and great people-watching potential. All those things combined with the fact that Brian and Johan are such a lovely couple make this one of those weddings I really wanted to give you a peak at.It was such a joyous day to be a part of and as a documentary style wedding photographer, I was spoilt with endless amazing little moments to capture. Blending into the background and snapping away, I had a ball!Brian and Johan both got ready at The Sofitel Hotel on Pall Mall with their families, including two very excited flower girls. With a glass of champagne in hand, they helped each other get ready.We then hopped into a black cab and it was straight off to The Ivy for some last minute preparations before the wedding guests arrived. Johan and Brian had put so much thought into all the details of their day, right down to some special biscuits they had baked for the occasion.Once their guests had arrived at the club upstairs, everyone was asked to take their seats. The procession made their way down the aisle with one of the flower girls holding a sign saying "At Last!" - one my favourite images of the day.As Johan and Brian had been together for some years, the ceremony felt extra special for everyone at the wedding. Everywhere I looked were huge smiles and the odd tear.After the ceremony, the guests were called upstairs to the private dining room for the drinks reception. Surrounded by the famous multi-coloured chequered stained-glass windows, they had cocktails and canapés whilst a pianist framed by flowers serenaded them.Dinner was served (the food looked and smelt delicious!) followed by some heartfelt, funny speeches. After the happy couple had cut their very elegant cake, everyone gathered around the piano where Brian surprised Johan with a song!I left with the laughter and applause still ringing in my ears.
