Bedfordshire Wedding Photographer
There is nothing that says Summer quite like a English country garden wedding. Bunting, champagne, white roses and a black Lab.
Sophie and Josh invited me to photograph their wedding in the bride's home in the heart of the Bedfordshire countryside. The weather was glorious and the garden looked beautiful thanks to months of hard work by Sophie’s mother.
As I arrived the house and garden where buzzing with activity with all hands on deck. Sophie was in her parents’ kitchen with the make-up artist, her family were outside putting the finishing touches to the marquee and her father hoisting the bunting across the driveway. As a photographer I was completely spoilt for choice!
I made my way to the nearby parish church as the guests started to arrive, guided in by Josh’s ushers. Josh was there to welcome everyone into the church. Of all the moments I captured on the day, Josh waiting expectantly at the alter was among my favourites.
Sophie's and her bridesmaids were greeted by a group of well-wishers from the village and as she stepped from the car they cheered. On the arm of her father she made her way inside, as he beamed with pride.
After a beautiful ceremony, the congregation gathered outside to congratulate the couple before we all made our way back to her parents'. The sun beamed as guests sipped champagne chatting and laughing. I love this part of wedding where I can blend into the background and quietly capture little moments that I know the couple will love later.
As the guests took their places for the wedding breakfast we got some great photos of the happy couple around the garden. It was lovely to be doing them in a place that was so special to Sophie.
After a delicious lunch, there were some hysterically funny speeches after which the guests spilled out of the marquee to catch the last golden rays of sunshine.
There was a brilliant live band who invited Sophie and Josh to join them for their first dance. After that, the guests poured enthusiastically onto the floor.
I left the party in full swing, the music floating through the Summer air.
